Un piccolo bambino nacque come da un miracolo!
Ma chi, per la prima volta, per quanto si conosca, realizzò il miracolo fu il Prof. Giovanni Serra, con la sua equipe del Centro di Neonatologia dell’Ospedale Gaslini di Genova.
Sì, proprio il maggior Consulente medico scientifico del nostro Giornale.
E fu stampato un bel libro “La cicogna di Alessio”, ed. Sonzogno, che narra la storia di questo evento, nei particolari, in modo dolcissimo.
Il fatto avvenne nel 1998:il piccolo Alessio nacque il 29 dicembre,con un peso di 1.150 gr., con parto spontaneo, alla 28° settimana, da una mamma in coma profondo per 45 giorni.
Fu un grande evento, che richiese particolare e costante cura, che il Prof.Serra praticò con grande forza.
La giovane mamma di Alessio, che fu colta da emorragia cerebrale ed entrò in coma profondo, morì 14 giorni dopo il parto.
L’assistenza e le cure intensive furono immediate, all’Ospedale S.Martino, ma quando nacque, Alessio fu trasportato di corsa al reparto di Patologia neonatale del Gaslini.
Il piccolo nacque presentando situazione ad alto rischio: non respirava da solo, non aveva difese contro infezioni, non poteva alimentarsi autonomamente e ci fu una grande affettuosa generosità delle altre mamme disponibili, che offrirono il loro latte.
Quando fu dimesso, tre mesi e dieci giorni dopo, pesava kg.3.250 e, con lui,tutti i neonati a rischio, che avevano percorso vicino quei lunghi mesi, stavano bene ed erano vivi.
Questo fu un evento eccezionale, dove l’abilità, la dedizione, la professionalità del Primario, dei Medici, delle Infermiere, compì questo miracolo.
Arrivò il Cardinale Tonini a trovarlo, arrivò tanta posta di augurio, complimenti e solidarietà, da tutta Italia e dalla Polonia, dalla Francia, dalla Germania, dalla Svezia, dall’Iran, dall’Argentina.
Il piccolo Alessio ed il suo Professore apparvero innumerevoli volte in televisione.
Ecco, sembra una fiaba.
E quanto ce n’è bisogno specialmente oggi in questo mondo superficiale.
E’ questo l’impegno, deciso, esperto, umano, che ogni medico dovrebbe raggiungere e ricordarlo ogni giorno perchè nelle persone ci sia speranza e gioia e non il contrario.
